Lively, happy and smiley-faced Toby is a typical Staffordshire Bull Terrier Crossbreed who is a big bundle of fun. He’s hoping to find a lovely, forever home soon with the help of the RSPCA Westmorland Branch in Cumbria.

Toby is approximately 7 years old, weighs 19.85kg and has a brindle and white coat. Even at this age, Toby is still full of energy and will need an active owner who can give him plenty of exercise. He absolutely loves people and always wants lots of fuss and attention. He’s a real bright spark!

Toby responds very well to training, provided there are no other exciting distractions. His recall is good and he knows the basic commands: ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘down’. He does need teaching how to walk nicely on the lead, but as he reacts very favourably to verbal praise and loves toys and treats, that aspect of his training should be relatively straightforward.

Toby will need to be the only pet in the home and, because of his bounciness, it should be a home where there are no young children but he’s fine with school-age children. Toby is good in the house and can be left for short periods. He is also used to travelling on public transport.

Toby can be quite reactive towards other dogs so will need an experienced owner who can work with him to help him overcome that behaviour. The RSPCA Branch behaviourist will be able to offer help and advice with that.
