6/6/2006 – Ben has very sadly had to be put to sleep. He never fully recovered from the bad treatment he had received, but at least he knew a few months of love from his foster family who worked so hard to help him before the end.
Ben is a Collie Cross of around 8 or 9 years old. Ben has not had a good time lately but he was saved and put into a rescue. He is now with the Oldies Club, being fostered in Chepstow.
When he arrived at his fosterer’s his tail was between his legs and he was nervous and timid. He has since come out of his shell, his tail wags and he responds well to his name. Ben has re-learnt the commands of sit, come, and wait.
Ben is a medium to large breed dog. He is fit and healthy, likes to travel, is strong on the lead and is now house-trained. He has been neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped.
Ben gets on well with other dogs but he really needs someone dog-savvy to keep up his training, keep him stimulated and build his confidence, with no other animals or young children.
Ben is quite food orientated and paces whilst waiting for his meals; nothing is safe, not even the bin! Ben has a lot of love to give to the right person and we feel he would make a loyal and loving companion in the right household.
Are you the right person for Ben? With plenty of time and love and attention to give him? If so, then please contact Liz on 01603 405951 or email: rehome@oldies.org.uk for more information. Ben can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit.
