27/8/08 – Cheeky was a lovely little dog who touched the hearts of many and we were all thrilled when she found a new home. We have recently received this sad update from her devoted family;
For the past 11 months we have had the great privilege of caring for little Cheeky who we adopted from Ardley Rescue Kennels last October. So it is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you that Cheeky lost her fight for life today. She had a lovely morning yesterday,going out for her usual beloved walkies, and then in the afternoon she went downhill. Her decline was swift and I hope painless.
We loved Cheeky with all our hearts and she brought us such happiness and joy. I hope that her past year was happy and she certainly never wanted for anything. She was such a sweet little thing and was much loved by everyone who met her.
A big thank you to the Oldies Club for alighting us to her plight and for giving us the chance to care for her.
Sleep tight Cheeky, xx

18/10/07 – Yay! Cheeky has a new home. Read her rehoming story here.
This beautiful little oldie darling is called Cheeky. She is a 15 year old Terrier X who has suddenly had to leave her home and has been lucky to find a place with Ardley Rescue Kennels in a foster home in Oxfordshire; otherwise her future would have been bleak.
Despite being 15, Cheeky is still quite a lively girl. She is sweet-natured and can live with dogs, cats, children and small pets; although a quiet retirement home is where she’d be happiest.
Cheeky has been thoroughly checked over by the vet and she has been found to have quite bad mammary tumours but, due to her also having a heart murmur, Ardley Rescue Kennels have been told that an operation is not advisable. For this reason she will also not be spayed. She has also had a bad flea allergy in the past and has no fur under her tail or on her tummy. Her teeth have plaque but she doesn’t have gum disease.
Cheeky has been microchipped and vaccinated and is now at her foster home, patiently waiting for a new, loving home in which to enjoy her retirement in comfort.

Please mention that you saw her on the Oldies Club website.
A homecheck will be required. If you are interested but live outside the rescue’s area, the Oldies Club may be able to help find a volunteer to carry out the homecheck.
