3/7/10 We’ve had the sad news that Sheppy passed away – his owner said he was the true love of her life and was so thankful to the Oldies Club for giving him to her. She’s made a beautiful tribute video of him, which you can see here.

Poor Sheppy was down on his luck when his owner sadly passed away. He had no place to go, until a very kind family friend contacted Oldies Club and soon Sheppy was settling happily into his new foster home in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Sheppy is a big softie who loves being groomed and stroked. He’s a quiet, gentle Collie x GSD who has the handsome face of a Collie and the intelligence and build of a German Shepherd.

Sheppy is about 10-11 years old. He loves people and gets on very well with other dogs, cats and children. He is fully house-trained and knows all his basic commands.

Sheppy has a penchant for Polo mints and dog choc drops which he requests by a gentle paw tap. Strangely though, he is very ambivalent about his food and generally just eats when he feels like it. That even goes for favourites like sausage and chicken, though he will take it very gently if offered by hand.

Sheppy isn’t very interested in toys, but he loves his walks and is fine on the lead. He also enjoys a sniff and potter in the garden, but shows no interest in chasing the squirrels – doesn’t that just show what a laid back boy he is!

Sheppy is fine to be left alone in the house for reasonable periods of time and will just cuddle up on the sofa. He’s quite happy to sleep there through the night and never attempts to get upstairs.

This handsome fellow will make a terrific companion for any home. He’s such a friendly and waggy-tailed boy!

Sheppy has had a recent vet check and is in good health. He has a harmless fatty lump on his back which may be removed and he has some slight weakness in his back legs when he gets up. This doesn’t seem to slow him down though.

Sheppy will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated before he is rehomed.
