Could you resist that little face?
18/8/09 – Sad news today….Buster’s heart was failing so he’s sadly been put to sleep. Sleep tight sweetheart.

17/4/09 – Buster has had a scan today and the vet found a small tumour on his liver. Unfortunately, due to his age and heart condition he isn’t fit enough to undergo further tests to diagnose the type of tumour. If it turned out to be malignant his only option would be chemotherapy and Oldies Club have decided that it wouldn’t be fair to put him through that.
Buster is therefore going to stay with his wonderful foster family where he will get lots of love and attention for whatever time he has left.
Buster is currently eating very well and has been given medication to support his liver. Oldies Club will continue to fund his medical care, but we would welcome any sponsors for Buster. Please see the details below.

Gorgeous little Buster is thought to be a German Spitz x Collie, aged about 13 or 14 years. He’s only a smallish lad — about 19″ to the shoulder. This poor lad found himself in a pound with time running out for him. Luckily, the Oldies Club was able to offer Buster a rescue place before he had to be put to sleep. He is now in an Oldies Club foster home, near Rochester in Kent.

Buster is an extremely sweet natured little dog who loves to be petted and made a fuss of. He settled into his foster home in just a few days. Buster is totally deaf but he doesn’t let this get him down.

Buster is happy being left at home for a few hours as he spends most of his time sleeping, especially after a long walk. He walks well on the lead but he can never be let off the lead as he is deaf and so cannot hear you calling and he would just wander off. He’s therefore now being exercised on a flexi-lead so that he can have a little freedom but still stay nice and safe.

His foster carer tells us:
Buster gets on well with other dogs and takes no notice of cats. He is an excellent house pet and quite obedient providing he can see clear hand signals. Buster does not fit his name as he is a sweet, petite dog who likes to take life at a slow pace. He really just wants someone to be with him and love him.

Buster has had a full vet check since coming into our care. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated. He is completely deaf and has early stage cataracts in both eyes. He has a heart murmur and is undergoing tests for his kidneys because he drinks quite a lot of water. We will update on this when we have the results. He is not on any medication at the moment.
Waiting to go home!
This little dog really is a most lovable fellow.
