25/5/2009 – We are sorry to announce that Holly has had to be put to sleep on the advice of her vet, to save her from suffering. Her loving foster family were with her to the end, and we offer all our thanks for the care they have given her.
Holly is a small-medium sized 14 year old crossbreed girl who has problems being left alone, even for a very short while, and she becomes very distressed.
Holly is a sweet-natured girl who weighs in at 25 lbs and stands 17″ to the shoulder. She sleeps a lot and likes to have an amble around the garden. She also enjoys regular tummy rubs!
This lovely old lady has spent the majority of her life as the constant companion to her owner who sadly passed away. She is therefore used to having permanent company and just doesn’t cope very well when she is left alone.
When she’s out on walks, she’s very calm and happy to have just a gentle stroll around the park. She doesn’t hear very well so is kept on the lead when out. She’s also a good traveller and is happy to be picked up to be put in the car.
Holly is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. She has had a mammary tumour removed since coming into our care. Holly has also been found to have deteriorating kidney function and unfortunately is starting to show signs of senility. She has been prescribed a special diet for her kidneys and is now also on medication.
