13/04/09  Poppy, Felicity and Suzie have found a wonderful new home where they can still be together.

Poppy was used as a breeding machine for a pet shop and when the shop closed down she was just discarded by the breeder,  along with her sister Felicity and Felicity’s daughter, Suzie (see separate entries).    Fortunately, all three were rescued by a lovely lady who took them into her home and cared for them.  Sadly, she has now been diagnosed with severe asthma so has reluctantly had to ask for the cats to be rehomed.

At the moment, Poppy and her relatives are in the care of Animal Accident Rescue Unit   but it is hoped that new homes can be found for these lovely cats as soon as possible.

Poppy is a very self-sufficent and private  little animal, probably around 10 years old.  She keeps herself to herself, going her own way and doing her own thing.  She has her routines and likes to go for a walk morning and evening, coming and going through the cat-flap.  A bit like the Mona Lisa, you just don’t know what’s behind the expression on Poppy’s little face.  Maybe she has another life somewhere – but she’s definitely  not saying.

She finds indoor life quite difficult.  She likes to sleep in the conservatory  or upstairs away from the others, or stretched out on the patio in the sun.  She eats anything, but is partial to tuna and chicken.  She doesn’t sit on laps, but likes to sit close and watch television – “Meerkat Manor” being a special favourite of hers.  She doesn’t particularly like being brushed, but loves to have her tummy rubbed.

Poppy is used to a quiet life away from traffic, dogs and noise.  She has been allowed just to ‘be’ – and not be hassled in any way.  She is very loving and affectionate and would be a lovely, rewarding little soul to have around.   Although she would be happy to be rehomed with Poppy or Suzie, Poppy would be absolutely fine as the sole cat.  In fact, she might relish it.

Could you give Poppy the loving home she deserves?   If so, please contact AARU
