24/4/2010 Poor little Sian has gone to the Bridge today. Her health had deteriorated and she lost the use of her back legs. Run free Sian :(
———–
Sian is a sweet 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier X. Sian was very overweight when she came into our care and she has been found to have a number of serious health problems, including a liver condition. Sian will therefore stay in our care permanently: she will remain in her loving foster home, with the Oldies Club covering the cost of her medical care.
18.3.10 We’ve had an update on how Sian is getting on with some lovely new photos from her foster mum.
“Sian finds it a struggle now on her walk so we only go for short ones. Her eyesight is getting worse but in saying that she still enjoys her little self. I bought her a little stroller so that now we can still go to the park which she loves. She’s also now reached her ideal weight so the rather chunky little dog who arrived here is no more – we have a new slimline Sian.
I really did think I was going to lose her over the weekend but she’s a little fighter and she’s quite a bit better now. We’re waiting for the results of some blood tests to see if her liver has been damaged.”
April 09 Sian’s foster carer tells us:
Sian is almost blind and very deaf. Her little legs don’t work too well either due to arthritis, but we do go for short walks which she loves as we meet lots of other people with their dogs. This also helps Sian with her weight as she was 15.9 kg when she came to me she’s down to just under 13 kg now so can walk easier. She is learning how to play again and is a joy to foster.
