24 April 2011: Sal very sadly passed away this week :-( Her wonderful foster mum said that she went downhill very fast and the vet agreed that she had no real quality of life left. Everyone at Oldies Club is very sad for Sal and her foster family, but very grateful that this special girl found such a fabulous foster home. Sleep tight Sal.

Sal came into Oldies Club care as an emergency case at the grand old age of 18. She is a beautiful lurcher girl whose owner was sadly unable to continue to care for her, and was within a few hours of being put to sleep when an Oldies Club volunteer stepped in.

After a few days assessment it was clear that Sal is a little senile, and also had a few problems with incontinence, so she was transferred to a long term foster home, where she is still very much enjoying life! She may be a little batty, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a happy and loving dog who still gets a lot out of life. She greets her foster carer with a happy waggy tail and even a play bow from time to time.

Sal does a lot of sleeping as you’d expect at her advanced age, so she’s definitely making good use of the sofa!

Because of Sal’s great age and occasional incontinence, she is going to stay in Oldies Club care as a Sponsor Dog. She will be cared for and loved dearly for the rest of her life.
