____________________________________

20/3/2011 Tinky has just celebrated her 1st year in rescue and she was treated to a cake, as you can see from the photo above. Battersea have also sent the following update;

Tinky can still have her controlling moments where she likes to feel she is dictating what happens in some situations, but her character has softened and she thoroughly enjoys a gentle cuddle on her favourite chair. She also enjoys watching wildlife from the window ledge in her room and is generally enjoying her retirement. She does need experienced cat owners who accept that cats can have their independent moments and she needs to be the only cat and in a home without dogs.

An update from Battersea – 4th Dec 2010

Tinky is still a bit of a monkey, but has settled really well in the cattery. She loves her routine of sleeping, eating and having a volunteer sit with her while she has some gentle fuss.

Tinky is not a lap cat, but will happily sit with you and seek affection in small doses. She can be strong willed and will dictate how much fuss she has by either pestering you constantly or giving you a ‘bat’ when she’s had enough – doesn’t she sound a cheeky little character!.

Tinky is an older girl but loves to play, especially chasing games as demonstrated in the new picture above! She is very charming and you cant help but warm to her. Her mischievous side only makes you love her even more.

Tinky’s original write-up – 20th Sept 2010

This is Tinky and she’s a 12 year old Domestic Short Hair cross. She came into rescue with Battersea Dogs and Cats Home after her owner took on a pup and Tinky couldn’t cope with the change.

Tinky is a sweet girl but likes her independence. She has a strong character and likes things to be on her terms, so she’ll let you know if you over step the mark!

Ideally, Tinky needs experienced owners who are used to rescue cats or feisty types. She may take a little time to settle and can be anxious around strangers or when she’s first in a new environment.

Tinky enjoys peace and quiet, so she is looking for a home without children or other pets. She can be left while her owners are at work and is quite happy to amuse herself.

Battersea would like to find Tinky a home in a fairly low cat-populated area as she is frightened by other cats due to past experiences. Once she has settled into her new home though, Tinky will make a cheeky, friendly and independent addition so please give her a chance.
