6/5/2011 Very sad news from Rain Rescue – poor Munchkin has had to be put to sleep. Sweet dreams handsome fella :(

This gorgeous American Bulldog is Munchkin and he was rescued from a dog pound and is now in the care of Rain Rescue in South Yorkshire. Sadly poor Munchkin is lame and when he was examined by a vet it was discovered that he’d had a cruciate repair operation which had gone out of alignment. The vet advised against further operations on this leg, because the joint is shattered and therefore won’t repair :(
Munchkin is only 2 years old so it’s such a terrible shame that he’s in this predicament. Rain Rescue would like him to find a comfortable foster home where he can spend his days being spoiled. He won’t need any walks, just a secure garden to potter around in and enjoy a snooze in the sunshine.
Munchkin could live with older children (aged 14 yrs +) and possibly another calm dog, but no cats please. He’ll need a secure garden and he won’t mind being left home alone for up to three hours at a time. He’d like to live with someone who has some experience of large breeds.

Rain Rescue will fund Munchkins future vet bills, but he really needs to be out of kennels and in a comfortable home environment where he can enjoy some company and get the fuss and attention he deserves.
