7 August 2012 ~ Sadly we have had to say goodbye to sponsor dog Daisy :( She had not had a good weekend and had stopped eating and drinking. She had won through her health problems previously, but it wasn’t to be, this time. Our thoughts are with her fosterers and her previous owner who kept in close contact with them at this sad time. Sleep tight lovely girl.

Update July 2012:-

Unfortunately, Daisy has not enjoyed the  best of health lately and has sadly suffered 2 strokes.  It is probable that she will have more, so it has been decided that the best thing for Daisy would be to stay in her happy foster home where she is being so well cared for.  She will now become an Oldies Club sponsor dog for the remainder of her days.

Daisy is a delightful 13 year old Border Collie Cross girl who came into Oldies Club care when her owners had to go abroad to work.  She settled quickly into her Oldies Club foster home in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

Daisy used to live with two other collies in her previous home and now happily shares her home with four sighthounds.

Before her health deteriorated Daisy had really been enjoying all her usual pursuits, playing  ball which she loves  going for walks, mostly at a trot and doing lots of sniffing.  She loves cuddles and attention and would have fitted perfectly into a home with children and other dogs.  Although Daisy is not now going to be rehomed due to her health problems, she will still enjoy the best quality of life possible due to the loving care of her foster family.

Her foster family summed her up this way:-

“Daisy is easy going, playful and gentle and has been no trouble at all.  She is a very well behaved, fabulous little dog”.

Isn’t she just adorable :) x

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
