30 May 2012 ~ Lovely Lady has very sadly passed away :( Sleep tight Lady.
********
Lovely Lady is a Labrador cross who came into Oldies Club care aged about 12, when her previous owner became ill and no-one was around to take care of her. She is a very sweet, patient and gentle girl.
Lady remained with her foster carer, who very much adores her, and became a sponsor dog when she started experiencing health problems. Lady started with a cough and received veterinary treatment and, after her cough worsened, was x-rayed. Very sadly a mass was found on her lungs, which had caused a lump or obstruction in her trachea, which was causing the cough. The vet advised that there was no surgical treatment to help, so Lady was put onto various medications to help make her life more comfortable. Lady will continue on these medications while they improve her quality of life.
Very much the Lovely Lady
Lady loves stretching out on the sofa and likes to feel close to her carer, following her around in the house to see where she is and whether any treats are available! She enjoys her walks around the park, twice a day, taking things at her own pace and enjoying inspecting every smell and sniffing each blade of grass.
We are told that Lady has two male doggie friends in the park who she enjoys meeting and greeting – apparently she jumps and squeaks like a giddy teenager for a few seconds while they have a good sniff of each other and then carrying on scanning the park for new smells.
Sometimes she enjoys a particular smell so much that she loves to have a roll – this has sometimes resulted in the need for a bath once back at home!
