Schmedley, a handsome, intelligent 10 year old Collie x Husky boy came into Oldies Club care and went to a foster home in Leicestershire. Schmedley had a fun and active weekend with his foster carers, who had already become very fond of ‘Schmedders’.
But then Schmedley became sluggish and restless. Upon investigation, the vets found that he had a massive tumour on his spleen which had ruptured – resulting in severe internal bleeding. With a very poor prognosis, it was agreed that the kindest thing was to let Schmedley go.
Our thoughts are with his foster carers and his former family. Schmedley was only with us a few days but touched everyone at Oldies Club and we are all feeling shocked to have lost him.
