26/4/18 – Beautiful Chica has now found a new home!

Chica is a 9 year old medium-sized girl (weighs just under 25kg) who is at Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire.

Chica was born in Portugal and lived with the same lady owner for most of her life. When the lady came back to the UK to visit her family, Chica came too. With a change in circumstances, Chica could not return to Portugal as planned and has been cared for by relatives. With long working hours, they now feel it is time for Chica to find her forever home.

Chica’s family described her as loving, placid and adorable, and she is certainly behaving beautifully at the rescue centre. She enjoys walking, playing and then sleeping and there is nothing she doesn’t really like. She is relaxed when travelling and is good on the lead, although her recall is not so good, and a secure garden is important for Chica’s new home.

Chica seems younger than her years in many ways and would like a fairly active home with someone around most of the day. She is sociable with other dogs but is used to being the only dog at home. She would welcome older children but no cats please.

Chica is in amazingly good shape for her age. The following were noted by the vet but no treatment has been recommended – old old ear injury, now healed, a tiny growth on her right lower eyelid, and slightly watery eyes. Chica is spayed.
