Poor little Fleur, an 11 year old Shih Tzu, arrived in Oldies Club care 3 months ago because her owner didn’t have the time and Fleur was being left for very long hours each day. She arrived in a sorry state, covered in fleas and with urine-soaked matts in her fur.
Fleur went to the vets for careful shaving of the worst bits, plus veterinary attention for a lump on her paw, high blood pressure and kidney disease.
Fleur quickly became a very happy girl again, was really enjoying life at her foster home, and was looking very pretty after a professional grooming session.
She got along well with her fosterer’s dog, Lucky, and she even enjoyed a week’s holiday in the New Forest with her foster family.
Sadly though, despite seeming as though she had a fair amount of time ahead to enjoy, today little Fleur became violently ill and the vet sadly confirmed that her kidneys had completely failed and there was no option but to kindly put her to sleep.
We would like to thank Fleur’s fabulous foster carer for the love and kindness she extended to Fleur. Fleur thankfully had a lovely final 3 months of life.
