15/10/18 – Poor Scooby sadly became very unwell and was found to be in heart failure and he seemed to have a mass in his chest. He has been put to sleep to save him any suffering. Sleep tight dear old Scooby.

Scooby is a 12 year old Ridgeback X Whippet boy who is at the Ark Animal Rescue & Retirement Home on the Lincolnshire coast. He is a gorgeous, large but slender tan-coloured boy who finds himself in need of a new home because his owner was not well enough to care for him.
Scooby was originally rescued and taken home by his owner’s son after the son witnessed Scooby being ill-treated and about to be thrown over a fence by his collar. Understandably, due to the previous bad treatment he has endured, Scooby doesn’t like having his neck touched or his collar pulled, and he is nervous of having his lead put on. Poor old Scooby.
He is a gorgeous boy who loves people and is lively for his age and in good health. He loves having a cuddle with his person on the sofa in the evenings and is used to sleeping in his own bed with a blanket at night. He must have an adult-only home, due to his fear of being touched around the neck etc. He doesn’t like cats and hasn’t mixed much with dogs, so needs to be your only pet. He gets nervous and stressed and will bark when he sees dogs but he can be calmed with reassurance and a treat.
Scooby needs an owner who will be able to give him the exercise he still enjoys but he does need a quiet home as that is what he is used to. He is housetrained and can be left for up to 3 or 4 hours. He travels OK in the car. On walks he pulls on the lead and isn’t used to being let off the lead so has no recall. He chews his toys so is given a marrowbone instead which he loves and will throw around and run around with it.
Scooby is neutered and his vaccinations are being brought up to date. He is nervous at the vets and wears a muzzle for examinations.
Scooby is a lovely dog who just needs to find a loving new home once again.
