15/6/18 – We are so pleased to hear that beautiful Sky has now found a home. Many happy days there Sky!
Beautiful 11 year old blue and white Staffy, Sky is a poorly girl who desperately needs a home with fabulous, kind-hearted people. Sky has been on Freshfields Animal Rescue‘s waiting list for quite a while and they have now managed to find a short-term foster home for her, but it is a busier environment than she’s used to, and due to her ill health they are desperate to find Sky a calm and quiet forever home where she can enjoy the rest of her days.
Poor Sky is in a pretty sorry state at the moment. As well as having a sore and itchy skin condition, she has also recently undergone surgery to remove a large mammary tumour. This tumour was quite aggressive and so sadly it is likely that it has already spread through her body. It is impossible to predict how the disease will progress, but Sky’s new owner must understand that they may only have a fairly short amount of time with her. Sky still has one mammary tumour left which it is hoped can be removed shortly. She will also be having x-rays to determine where the disease has spread. Sky is on medication for her skin and is having a hypoallergenic diet.
Sky is such a beautiful-natured dog. She is friendly, placid and very well behaved. She lived with young children in her last home, but she is a poorly old girl now and needs a calm and quiet, adult-only environment.
Sky is sharing her foster home with dogs and cats and has so far been OK with them, but as she has always been the only pet in the home, and due to her condition, Freshfields feel that it is in her best interests to be the only pet in her forever home.
Freshfields say: “We cannot express how wonderful this girl is and we are desperately hoping that she can find a 5-star home with someone who will spoil her rotten for the time she has left.”
