29/11/2018 Lovely lady Tish has the best news this year – she has been adopted. She was the longest serving dog in kennels after being there for around 5 years!

Radiant lady Tish is a super loving Greyhound of 10 years. She’s an ex-racer, in the care of Romford Greyhound Homing at their kennels in Brentwood, Essex. She’s gradually slowed down over the years and it’s thought that walks are not essential to her anymore. As long as she has a good sized garden and lots of love, she’ll be happy!
A volunteer at the kennels recently said, “Yesterday I had a chance to spend some time with the kennels’ oldest resident Tish. I’ve heard stories of her being the most loving hound, but I was completely blown away by all the love this elderly girl had to give me (a complete stranger) when we went for a walk.
“Unfortunately, she isn’t dog friendly (not even other greyhounds), but hopefully there is someone out there who doesn’t have a dog and would love to give this beauty the home and love she deserves. It would absolutely break my heart to see her spend the autumn years of her life in the kennels.”
Here’s Tish’s own message to you, “I have lived in these kennels longer than any other dog and now that I’ve reached my silver years I would really love to have a family to call my own. I admit I have a few issues with all other four legged creatures – big, small, fluffy or short haired. I really don’t like them and most definitely wouldn’t want to live with them!
“But if you have just two legs, I will love and adore you forever, especially if you give me some tasty treats and rub my ears. In fact, there is nothing that makes me happier in the whole big world than when I share a moment of cuddles with you humans!”
So, as well as living in kennels throughout her career Tish has also been in kennels during her retirement years so far. That’s her whole life in kennels! Through no fault of her own (if you consider despising all other animals to be more of a lifestyle choice!) she’s never had a sofa or someone to share it with.
Tish is the perfect companion now that she doesn’t need walks. She will enjoy just relaxing in your company and the comfort of a proper home. She’ll always be available for fuss and cuddles. Once she has a garden to call her own, she can forget those pesky other animals even exist and she’ll be happy…
…at last.
