~ Our Winter Appeal Competition for young dog lovers ~
Today we launch a competition for children in the UK to paint or draw a picture that they feel represents Oldies Club’s volunteer work rescuing and rehoming older dogs, with the aim of featuring two of the entries during this year’s Winter Appeal, which will launch next month to raise much-needed funds to help us through the winter months. The winning entries will feature on our website, social media and fundraising page,
The competition is open to those aged up to 16 and entries will be split into two groups – those aged up to 11 and those aged 12-16. Entries must be submitted by email, so you will need to either create your artwork digitally, be able to take a good-quality photograph of it when completed or scan it. Adult assistance may be required for explaining our work and submitting entries, but the artwork itself must, of course, be created by the entrant alone :-)
The competition runs from now until Sunday 25 November, in order that we can choose a winner from each group before the Winter Appeal is launched. When you’re ready to submit your entry, please email it to f@oldies.org.uk along with the name and age of the entrant. Please make sure you email your entry by 11.59pm on Sunday 25 November 2018. We will reply by email to acknowledge receipt.
There will be a £10 National Book Token prize for the winning entry from each of the two age groups. Alternatively, the winner may choose an Amazon Gift Card.
For inspiration, please see the details of last year’s Winter Appeal:
https://www.oldies.org.uk/2017/winterappeal and feel free to take a look around our website and Facebook page if you’re not yet too familiar with our work, especially if you will want to explain what we do to a younger child.
Please help spread the word – we’re really looking forward to seeing the entries!
