Bess and Roy are ex-working farm collies who now need someone to care for them in their twilight years. They are about 9 years old and are with RSPCA Westmorland Branch in Kendal, Cumbria.
Bess and Roy are very special indeed. They were taken to RSPCA Westmorland Branch by one of the Inspectors who discovered Bess and Roy tied up in woodland. It is believed that their owner had fallen on hard times. They are lovely, happy dogs and don’t ask for much, bless them.
Bess and Roy are being rehomed under the RSPCA’s Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme which gives assistance with veterinary fees.
Bess and Roy must be rehomed together. Lovely Roy is blind in one eye, and almost blind in the other, and so he relies on Bess in so many ways. Bess and Roy know some basic commands and they are very sweet and affectionate. They love to have fuss and attention.
These two wonderful dogs have probably never lived in a domestic environment so they need an adopter who can offer them sheltered, heated, comfortable outside accommodation or something similar. They don’t need 5-star accommodation, but they do need someone to care and look after them as they grow older together. They can live with children of secondary school age but would be best in a home without cats.

Could you offer these wonderful collies a suitable new home to retire to?
