8/4/19 – Billy has found a wonderful new home with a previous CDRS adopter!
Billy is an adorable 13-year-old grey Terrier type boy who is with Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire.
Until recently, Billy shared his home with an elderly lady and a Greyhound. Very sadly, this happy family unit was broken up when Billy’s owner was taken into care and family members came from abroad to sort out everything out in a short space of time.
Billy is a lovely, sociable dog who gets on well with people of all ages and can live with other dogs. He has been used to a life spent going backwards and forwards between the house and garden, enjoying short walks, playing with his toys, and then chilling out on the sofa. Billy is used to travelling by car and has been left for increasing amounts of time in recent months without becoming distressed. He walks well on the lead but is not let off lead as the temptation to go off exploring or chasing cats might be too great for him.
Billy is neutered. He has very specific medical needs as X-rays, blood tests and scans have confirmed that he has developed chronic liver disease. However, it is not affecting his overall general health. He has bright eyes and a strong heart and, in the opinion of two vets, is perfectly capable of enjoying a happy retirement with someone who will appreciate the health issues he has. Billy is not on any medication but he does need to be fed the LD Science diet, and some supplements, to keep him as well as possible for as long as possible.
This very special old chap needs a quiet home with someone who loves Terriers and who understands that, despite his diagnosis, Billy doesn’t want to be ‘wrapped in cotton wool’ for the time left to him. Billy is unaware that he has a health issue and he just wants to get on with having a fun and interesting life.
Could you offer gorgeous Billy plenty of TLC and happy times?
