22/09/19 – Gorgeous Jasper has gone to his new home!
Jasper is an absolute picture! He is an 8-year-old Saluki Cross who came into the Oldies Club rescue because of his owner’s deteriorating health. He is now in a foster home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, waiting for someone to offer him a lovely permanent home.
A good boy in foster: Jasper settled at his foster home within 24 hours and he has been a very good boy.
Can be left: Jasper is fine to be left on his own for 4-5 hours, but he wouldn’t be happy living with full-time workers.
Would prefer to be your only dog: Jasper lived with another dog before he came into rescue but, because of his reaction to other dogs outside – he barks at dogs on his walks – his foster carer thinks he would be best as an only dog in his new home.
Will chase cats outside: Jasper is living with a cat at his foster home, but he will chase cats outside. He is okay with the resident cat in the house, but when the cat goes outside Jasper will chase him. His foster carer thinks that Jasper would be best in a cat-free home.
Could live with kind older children: There are no children in Jasper’s foster home but when he has met children outside he has always been friendly with them. He could potentially live with calm older children who understand the needs of an older dog.
Well-behaved on walks: Jasper is excellent on the lead and is good off lead with good recall. However, he will chase rabbits! He is currently have two walks per day of between 20 and 30 minutes.
Good in the car: Yes he is!
Jasper’s favourite pastimes: Playing Fetch with his ball. Nice leisurely walks. Snuggling up with someone on the settee.
Jasper’s ideal home: He would love a quiet, relaxed home as your only pet.
Health notes: Jasper is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has been wormed and flea treated. He is fit and well with no current health issues.
Foster carer’s summary of Jasper: Calm, friendly, loyal and loving, Jasper has a very sweet nature. He loves everyone!

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
