Pretty Poppy is an 8 year old German Shorthaired Pointer who was rescued from a Spanish shelter and is now in a foster home in Tamworth in Staffordshire, through The Fairy Dog Fosterers.
Poppy was owned as a hunting dog in Spain but before she turned 2, she was turned out because she hadn’t taken to hunting. This beautiful girl then spent the next 6 years in a cage!
Since being in foster care in the UK she’s proven to be house trained, brilliant with both grownups and children, and super affectionate. She loves cuddles!
Poppy is so grateful to finally have home comforts and love. Within 2 days of being in foster, with help from a new dog friend, she’d mastered playing with a rope toy for the first time!

Poppy is good with other dogs but can be nervous when she first meets them. She could live with another calm, friendly dog or as an only pet. Cats are a no thank you. Or rather, a yes please, I’d like to chase that!
Poppy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea/worm treated. She’s in fine fettle and ready to find her forever sofa. Could that be with you?
