Delightful 8-year-old best friends, Leaha the Collie Cross girl and Charlie the Staffy boy, have suffered a terrible abandonment. They are now safe with Good life Dog Rescue, kennelled in South Yorkshire, and need to find a new home together. Good Life Dog Rescue prefer to rehome their dogs within Yorkshire/Lancashire/Derbyshire areas, but would consider slightly further afield for the ideal home.
These two gorgeous dogs were abandoned in a forest the week before Christmas. They love each other dearly and have understandably found recent events quite an ordeal. They were collected by the stray kennels after a passer-by found them hiding in a lane. Initially both dogs were very frightened and extremely bewildered, but over a period of time they have turned the corner and now, as long as they have each other, they feel safe. They have settled in well with Good Life Dog Rescue and are now having plenty of exercise together and sharing a kennel.
Leaha is a lovely, playful and chunky lady. She is generally the more confident of the two dogs but she needs extra time to adjust. She can be wary of strangers due to being frightened, but once she knows you she adores cuddles and fuss. Although Charlie does bark with excitement on meet and greets, he is a very special and loving gentleman and is more laid back than Leaha. They are very much a bonded pair and they look to one another for reassurance. This is understandable due to the terrible time they have endured.
Leaha and Charlie adore one another. They definitely need a home together and so Good Life will not split them. Both dogs are extremely affectionate and very close. Charlie is the more submissive of the two but it is quite common for the lady of a pair to be the more confident. Leaha loves to play and will throw toys around the run, although she isn’t great at retrieving! Leaha can initially be strong on the harness but she does slow down once out and about. They have been health checked at the vets and Leaha will be having some mammary lumps removed.
Leaha and Charlie urgently need a new beginning in an experienced home. Do you have room for this very special pair who have been through so much together?
