13/4/20 – Max has found a home!
This splendid big lad is Max, a 9-year-old German Shepherd x Great Dane who is with Islay Dog Rescue in Ayrshire, Scotland. He appears on their Facebook page. They rehome their dogs nationally, subject to a satisfactory homecheck.
Fabulous Max is extremely fit and active for his age. He has had a recent vet check and is in good health. Max is a firm favourite with all the volunteers at the kennels. He could easily star in the chorus line for The Proclaimers (being well able to walk 500 miles then 500 more!!) and loves nothing more than to play fetch with his ball.
He has travelled silently in the rescue’s van and was not stressed at all. He is a gentleman taking treats and has never been destructive in his kennel though he can make short work of tennis balls. He is good with other dogs but needs a home without cats. He would suit a family home where children are well-behaved, dog-savvy and over the age of 12. He could live with another dog providing introductions went well.
Max was abandoned at a police station by his owner who said he had nipped his new partner’s child. Max and his owner had been living with the new partner for one week and, by the owner’s own admission, Max had been pestered all week by the child. However, to err on the side of caution, the rescue will not rehome Max to a home with resident or visiting children under the age of 12 – despite the fact he has never put a paw wrong during the months he has been in kennels.
Handsome Max will need at least 2 good walks each day. He is neutered.
Could you offer wonderful Max a new home?
