25/11/21 – Lovely Megan has gone to her new home!
Mild-mannered Megan is an 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel girl who came into the Oldies Club rescue after her owner sadly passed away. She’s in an Oldies Club foster home in Bracknell, Berkshire while she waits for someone wonderful to offer her a permanent home.
At home: Megan quickly settled into her foster home and her loving nature showed straight away. She’s relaxed with the other dogs there and doesn’t seem to mind when there are no humans around for a while.
Good with dogs: Megan is great with the other dogs in her foster home, any visiting dogs and all dogs she meets on walks. What a star she is!
Cat chaser, probably: There are no cats in Megan’s foster home but she has been excited whenever she’s seen one. It’s thought she would very much like to play chase if she got the chance!
Children: Megan has been brilliant with the visiting little ‘uns at her foster home. Both were aged under 2 and Megan was not fazed at all. She should be fine to live with children who are respectful about her age.
Enjoys her walks: Megan is good on the lead but has the typical Spaniel way of following scents wherever they go, with a waggy tail. Her foster carer hasn’t tried her off the lead because she’d probably just pay attention to her nose and completely forget she had a human with her at the start! She has 2 walks a day of about half an hour but she’s always ready for an ad hoc walkies. The more sniffing time, the better!
OK in the car: She’s perfectly happy to jump in the car and is fine on short journeys but can get car sick on longer ones. Not feeding her before a car ride seems to help.
Megan’s favourite pastimes: She like playing ball games but her favourite thing is snuggles and fuss. She’s a very soft and cuddly girl!
Megan’s dislikes: The only thing she’s been hesitant of, since being in foster, is being in the garden when there was a bonfire. Even then, she was OK after a bit of reassurance. She’s a level-headed sort of person.
Megan’s ideal home: Although she’s OK about being left, especially with other dogs, she’s prefer to have someone at home quite a lot. She’d like having another dog or two around. She needs a garden for playing with her ball and general pottering. Nice walks and lots of affection are her priorities.
Health notes: Megan is spayed, vaccinated and flea/worm treated. She’s in good health.
Megan’s foster carer says: “She sleeps in the bedroom in her own bed. She’s so easy to look after and seems to settle to any changes. She loves all humans! She’s kind, calm, loving and loyal.”
