1/11/2021 – Lovely Kizzy has a new home lined up to go to!
—————–
Kizzy is a Whippet x Saluki type girl who is 12 years old and is with Chilterns Dog Rescue Society near Tring, Hertfordshire. She is taller than a purebred Whippet and currently weighs around 15kg.
Kizzy is not only beautiful and elegant, she also has the sweetest, most placid nature imaginable. She has had quite a sheltered life as the devoted companion to an older lady who has just moved into a care home. Initially Kizzy was allowed to stay with her but, as the lady’s health sadly deteriorated, there was no-one to look after Kizzy and her family took Kizzy to CDRS in the hope that a loving retirement home could be found for Kizzy too.
She is polite and friendly with everyone she meets but would be best suited to a quiet home with a nice, secure garden. Kizzy will need two short walks a day. She gets on well with other dogs but has never lived with cats or small animals. She can be left for a few hours a day provided she has a cosy bed to curl up in. She has done little in the way of car travel, although this is unlikely to faze her.
Although Kizzy has more energy than might be expected of a dog of her age, and she certainly enjoys a little off-lead run around a secure area, she can be relied upon to walk calmly without pulling. She shows little interest in passing dogs when exercised on lead.
Initial vet checks have not revealed any major underlying health issues. Kizzy is a bit underweight due to a recent lack of regular care but is slowly getting up to her optimum weight. She also has sore gums and some rotten teeth which, once sorted, will make eating more comfortable for her. She is booked in for a dental, after which she should be ready to join her new home.
Could you offer Kizzy a lovely home?
