31/05/2022: Max sadly passed away. Run free lovely boy.

Soppy Max is an 8-year-old Crossbreed boy who’s sad to find himself back in kennels at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool through no fault of his own. He’d been homed by them as a puppy and had 7 happy years as a doted on, only pet but his owner became unwell and couldn’t look after him anymore.

Max’s sweet nature shows when he’s got to know you but it takes him a while to trust people. He can be anxious and protective around strangers which is not helpful for attracting potential adopters in kennels. His loyal, loving side is well worth taking the time to coax out though.

Max was a bit too tubby when he first arrived back at Freshfields but has slimmed down with a sensible diet and exercise. He has a touch of arthritis which is managed with supplements. Just don’t let those pleading eyes persuade you into to giving him tit bits!

Max is not a fan of other animals so he needs to be an only pet and have experienced owners. A settled life with a steady routine is what he’s after, with no children to unsettle him. He wants a garden and plenty of toys too.

Max is a lovely mix of playful, affectionate and laid-back when life is sensible. He’s clean and well behaved in the house. He can be left for a couple of hours and will just be really pleased to see you when you return, probably suggesting a walkies to celebrate…

…or that you find something tasty in the kitchen.

If you want to get to know this loving, amusing boy and live close enough to Liverpool to take a few weeks to let him come out of his shell…
