27/07/2022: Buzz will be staying with his foster carer! Hooray!
Brave Buzz is a 12-year-old German Shepherd X Rottweiler looking for either a forever home or a long term foster home. He’s currently in foster with several other dogs in Durham with Adopt A Dog North East.
Buzz needs an active home as he is still very fit and healthy for his age so he can manage lengthy walks. He’s quite a timid boy due to being treated badly in the past. He needs owners with experience of nervy dogs, who will be calm and reassuring in all situations.
He’s generally calm around cats, so a home with a cat would be considered if the cat is confident and used to dogs. He travels well and is good in the home. Due to his sensitivities he doesn’t want to live with young children but older, dog savvy children will be considered.
He would thrive in a home with a female dog of a similar size or where someone is at home most of the time. He needs to be walked on lead as he is easily spooked. His foster carer says he’s like the lion in the Wizard Of Oz, bless him! He is a gentle giant who just needs understanding.
The rescue prefer to rehome within about 30 miles of Durham but if you have the perfect home and might be the kind person who can make Buzz feel safe and loved, it’s worth asking because he’s a gem of a dog!
