We’ve heard lovely news of Skye who found her new home back in July. This is what her new family told us:
“Skye is doing really well, and we are very happy to have her in our family.
Our previous Staffy really wasn’t keen on other dogs, so we were initially a little nervous with Skye meeting other dogs, but she was fine. Respectful and a little wary to start with, but thankfully not aggressive or nervous.
She has socialised a lot with our son’s chihuahua Merry and our daughter’s partner’s sheba cross corgi puppy Mango.
Mango is a regular visitor and often stays overnight. Running around the garden and play fights are hilarious, and Skye gets really excited when she sees Mango.
Her walking is now really good. She hadn’t done much more than a 20 minute walk when we adopted her, as her back legs were weak and she was on medication for that. She now does a daily 4 mile walk, which she leads all the way, and the medication has been replaced by dietary supplements.
The main ongoing issue is her eyes, according to the vet she had a number of eye infections which went untreated before she was rescued, and this has caused pigmentation over her eyes. She can’t see as well as she should, but as long as we keep treating her eyes to avoid further infection we can at least stop it getting worse.
She is a lovely dog, and we are thankful that you found us fit to adopt her.”
This is such wonderful news about Skye and we are so pleased to hear how fit and healthy she is now and how much she is enjoying her walks. It is also lovely to hear about her sweet friendship with Mango. Keep on having a fabulous time in your new home, Skye!
