28/11/2022 Lovely Rio is enjoying his life in his new home.

Rio is a lovely Lurcher and a sofa monster who loves his cuddles. He is being cared for by Leicester Animal Aid until he goes to his forever home.
Rio is 7 years old who would love a home with children aged 10+ years to get all those cuddles and an owner who could gradually get him used to a leave time so he will feel comfortable being left on his own. Rio could possibly also live with a medium-size dog, but he has a high prey drive and cannot live with cats or small animals. He is house-trained.
Like most Lurchers, Rio is a lover of food and can be a little thief getting into any cupboard and on any worktop given the chance just for a crumb or leftover! He’s a bit of a silly sausage who does get excited easily and loves a run around to burn off some energy. Rio also likes to dip his paws in a paddling pool. Then he’s flat out on the sofa.
Rio has a very high prey drive so will require a muzzle and on-lead exercise. He has an injury to one of his shoulders which is under Veterinary care and the kennel team will keep you updated on his progress.
