10/06/2023: Herman has gone to his new home! Hooray!

Herman is a super cute French Bulldog of 8 years, in the care of Foal Farm Dog Rescue in Kent. He could live with a calm, female dog or as an only pet but he needs grown ups only for his retirement, in a permanent foster home within half an hour’s drive of the rescue.

Herman is very affectionate and playful. He has a stubborn streak a mile wide and is very funny when he refuses to do something. On walks, if he thinks his human is taking him on the wrong route he will not budge unless bribed with a treat! He’s become highly skilled at training people.

He loves a little game of fetch, although he hasn’t got the hang of bringing a ball back and relinquishing it! He has very strong views about things that belong to him.

Out and about, he’s good with other dogs and he only needs short walks. This is because he has a back problem which can make his back legs go wobbly. He has very sensitive skin for which he takes medication and has a strict turkey-based diet.

It’s due to his medical needs that Foal Farm are looking for a permanent foster home rather than an adopter. They will be responsible for medication and for any support that might be needed. He really doesn’t hold with going to the vets for example and can get quite truculent, bless him!

Foal Farm desperately want Herman to have a proper home environment and people of his own, who will give him the TLC he needs. He’s a genial boy, when he’s not being grumpy and he has a lot of love to give.

If you might be the kind (yet not a push over!) person who can give Herman the happy retirement he seeks, please contact Foal Farm Animal Rescue as follows:

Please say you saw Herman on the Oldies Club website.

NOTE: Foal Farm prefer to rehome dogs in the locality of the rescue, if at all possible, so they can offer continued support.
