18/11/24 – Darling little Joy is now settled in her forever home
Ta da! This splendid lady is Joy the 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, in the care of Dumfries & Galloway Canine Rescue. Her owner sadly passed away and so she’s looking for a retirement home, preferably with a man about the place as she’s more at ease in male company.
Joy gets on well with most other dogs out and about but wants to be the only one at home. It’s not known how she’d be with cats so safest to say no thank you. She wants an adult only home with a settled routine, secure garden (that’s Terrier secure!) and plenty of toys!
A typical JRT, Joy is a big character in a little package. She is good as gold… by terrier standards. Occasional squirrel chasing, escapology and trying to carry sticks ten times too big cannot be ruled out!
Joy is good in the car, clean indoors and affectionate with those she trusts.
She’s been a quiet girl at the rescue and is always thoroughly sweet. It’s thought she’ll be fine to be left alone for short periods of time. She loves to get all snuggled in her bed with her soft toys!
