1/3/2024 – Lassie has found a lovely new home, and they decided to adopt Lady too. What a wonderful outcome for them!

Lassie is an 8-year-old female Lurcher (24″ to the shoulder and 24kg) who is being rehomed by Lurcher Link Rescue. She is in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Lassie arrived in rescue with her 2-year-old daughter, Lady (photo below), but after a period of assessment the rescue has decided to rehome them separately as Lassie has really grown in confidence.
Lassie is quite laid back. In kennels she’s relaxed and settled, and is usually to be found asleep. Lassie has probably never lived in a house before, but it’s almost certain that she’d love the chance of life on the sofa in front of the fire.
Lassie shared a kennel with her daughter, Lady, with no issues over food or toys. She is fine when walked with other dogs, and her previous owner also reported that Lassie has no problems with other dogs. Lassie will be happy to live with another dog in the home – male, similar age, laid-back, but with some life left to play.
Lassie is said to be OK with older kids, travelling in the car and being left home alone. She has some basic obedience and will recall (in the yard with no rabbits, squirrels etc.) and also knows sit and bed. Lassie was previously used as a working dog and she will not be suitable to live with cats or other small furies.
She has a previously broken front leg which has reset at the wrist so it doesn’t bend. This doesn’t seem to cause her any issues at the moment – she still plays happily, jumps onto the bed and copes easily with 1 hour walks – however she may suffer with arthritis in the future. She is neutered.
Could you offer Lassie a new home?
