22/11/2024 – Abbie’s foster carer has offered to keep her for whatever time she has left. We are so pleased that she has a lovely home to enjoy and hope she has plenty of happy times ahead of her.
Sadly, poor Abbie was found abandoned at 3.00am running around the streets with no chip and no-one coming forward to claim her. This little dog needed a safe rescue place and Rescue Remedies in Surrey came to her help and are caring for her until her forever home comes along. Since initially coming into rescue poor little Abbie has been through a lot, there being tumours discovered, for which she has undergone surgery, but sadly her life expectancy is not long, so it would be truly wonderful and a privilege, for whoever can find it in their hearts to take Abbie home for the remaining time she has left. She has been moved to foster until that time comes.
Abbie is a dear, little Scotty Cross and is 8 years old. She is lovely and kind with a gentle, easy personality – quirky looking and adorable. She walks well and is not dog reactive. Her tail starts thumping away when she recognises someone she knows. She is in with the Staff so has a lot of activity to absorb.
This is what her walker says:
“I took Abbie out for the first time today. I gave her a treat and said hello, very easy to get a lead onto her harness and collar and happy to trot off. Lots of sniffing, a relaxed walk, not so keen on brambles, so we took a clear path. After a few minutes she started looking at me more and so far seemed very mild mannered. We sat on the bench afterwards, she lay down right next to me and moved close. I put a comfy towel down and she enjoyed sitting on that. She took some treats so very gently. Looking forward to more walks with Abbie. I think she would very much like a comfy sofa with a big fluffy cushion and luxury.”
Abbie is now neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Her claws were growing into her pads and infected and these have been treated.
