Alfie is a gorgeous, teddy bear of a dog who is being fostered in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, for Pawsome Possibilities.

He is 12 years of age and a largish mixed breed boy, weighing 31kg. It’s thought he may have some Romanian Shepherd in him. Lovely Alfie’s foster carer is hoping Alfie will find his ideal home very soon. With a face like this, we can’t imagine him waiting too long!

As you can see, Alfie is currently living with other dogs, but he does like to be top dog, so would be best either as your only dog, or with a meek female.

It isn’t known how he is with cats, so a cat-free home will be needed for him. He is fine when meeting children in the park but hasn’t lived with them, so an adult home would be best. As he has Shepherd in him, Alfie can get worried when visitors come to the house.

Alfie is housetrained, waits nicely for food, and settles quietly at night. He is a very fit dog and he enjoys his walks. A quieter home with few visitors, where he will have a good daily walk off-lead, would be best for him. He loves paddling in water and rolling around in wet grass. He is not really into toys and does not understand fetch nor bother playing with a ball.

Alfie is neutered and has had a full health check and had a dental. He was a good, calm boy at the vet.

He has rescue backup from Pawsome Possibilities who would take him back if his new home didn’t work out.

Could you offer Alfie a suitable new home?
