Adorable Amy came to All Animals Rescue & Rehome in Essex as an unclaimed stray from the pound; she wasn’t microchipped and wasn’t reclaimed. She is approximately 8 – 10 years old, though this is an estimate due to her being a stray with no prior history. Amy has a lot of love to give and just needs a forever human to share it with.
Amy is a small Rottweiler (24kg) and has a fantastic nature, she absolutely adores her humans, a ball, and other dogs, in that order! Amy is such a lovely lady so don’t be put off by her advancing years, she still loves to party – well, chase a ball. She will do this all day long given half the chance. Indoors, she is very much the couch potato. She loves nothing more than to snuggle in her bed, your bed or the sofa, either with you or other dogs, or on her own; comfort is life to this lovely girl, and given the rough time she has had recently she definitely deserves it.
Amy will sit, wait, give paw and has fairly good recall; she is a little hard of hearing but not deaf, she can definitely here that treat tub opening. She walks lovely on the lead and isn’t a puller. She mixes with tiny dogs up to giant dogs and is pretty indifferent to them all, as long as they don’t try to steal her ball, she will tell them off for that.
Amy is house-trained and non-destructive. She’s happy to be left in comfort while you go out, though she does seem to get a little anxious if she knows you are home and can’t get to you and she will bark, but in an open plan home where she can follow you around, she will be fine. Being a guardian dog, she just has to know where everyone is at all times, she is a bit of a momma bear.
Amy mixes fine with other dogs out on walks. She would be happy with a dog of similar nature to her that just enjoys the quiet life, but she would probably be happiest as the only dog in the home.
When Amy arrived it was obvious she needed quite a lot of vet work and this has all now been done. She has been spayed and had mammary lumps removed which have not spread and should not cause any further issues. She also had a dental with some extractions and a scale and polish. She is also microchipped.
Amy is just so happy to be in your company and even loves going to the vets. She really deserves to find her forever family where she can live out the rest of her days being loved and pampered. She is a really sweet lady that just craves love and cuddles.
