29/9/24 – Rehomed!
Barney is a gorgeous 8-year-old Whippet cross, weighing 22kg, who was very lucky to be saved from the hellish environment of the Chinese meat market. Barney is now with All Animals Rescue and Rehome in Essex.
Barney is one of the lucky ones as he was destined to become meat. It doesn’t bear thinking about, does it. On arrival in the UK, Barney was quite overwhelmed, but he didn’t take long to attach himself to his rescuers and he loves nothing more than snuggles. He’d had a 14-hour flight followed by a few hours drive and all he wanted on arrival was to have a snuggle. The rescue tell us it’s very easy to fall in love with this adorable lad. He’s so calm, sweet and well behaved.

Barney will steal your bed and your heart. He is strikingly beautiful and gets compliments wherever he goes, which of course he is happy to lap up!
Barney is very dog friendly with all size dogs and could happily live with a canine companion. He can live with children aged 13 years plus. He would love a family to play with him and keep him occupied. He loves a walk and enjoys greeting everyone he meets. He is housetrained and non-destructive and is happy to be left snoozing on the sofa by himself.
Barney is very quiet and even though he will walk for miles, he takes some convincing to get out of bed or off the sofa, particularly if it’s cold or wet – and who can blame him! He is fantastic on the lead and is a work in progress off lead. Everything is new to him and he is particularly captivated by low-flying birds, which he will never have seen before. Sometimes he watches them and other times he will chase. He will be a joy to train as he will do anything for food or a cuddle.
Barney is neutered, microchipped, de-flead and wormed. Barney has had a dental and had 7 teeth removed. He’s as fit as a fiddle. He was tested for rabies and Brucella prior to entering the country.
