7/3/2024 Handsome Barney has found his lovely new home.

Handsome Barney is a wonderful, 7 year old boy who hasn’t had much luck in his life. He was rescued as a puppy but, sadly, the local villagers were not happy to have a dog in their neighbourhood and on occasion beat poor Barney so badly it was thought he would never allow a human near him. After this incident, Barney came back to the shelter where he would be safe.
Unfortunately, his adoption in the U.K. failed and he is now in kennels looking for a new home. He is currently in kennels in Rotherham and potential adopters will have to meet him there first.
Barney is a 7 year old, black and tan, medium-sized (25kg) German Shepherd Cross. He is a little shy but loves cuddles and is house-trained. He’s also very obedient and gentle. Barney is very scared of loud noises and needs a quiet home. He was previously homed in London and this was not a good environment for him. He needs someone who can give him time and patience to come into his own.
Barney can live with another calm dog and cats as he has done so in the past. He’s good with children but a child-free home would be preferable as he is easy to scare and loud noises might make him digress in the progress he has made so far.
Barney is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is taking no medication.
