Basil (AKA Bronko) is a 10-year-old Crossbreed boy, medium-sized with long legs. He’s currently in a foster home in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, having been saved from a lifetime in shelter in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Nirina Dog Adoptions. He seems pretty pleased with how life is working now!

Basil would prefer a calm home with no young children. Older, dog-savvy children would be fine for him. He’d like to be an only pet so he can have all the attention to himself on his retirement. He’s generally relaxed about meeting other dogs on walks unless they’re too up-close and bouncy. He loves jolly outings, whether that’s walkies…

…or general socialising.

Basil is clean and well behaved in the home. He can be left for a couple of hours, once he’s settled in. He loves garden time, both pottering and sunbathing with his people.

Nirina say, “Basil is a really sweet affectionate lad. He loves getting fuss. He likes following his human around to see what they are up to. He enjoys sunbathing on the garden and even enjoyed his visit to the beach too. Despite his age he still has some get up and go to him. He’s obedient but still makes you laugh.”

Basil walks nicely on the lead and is good in the car. He had a lovely outing to the seaside recently.

It’s amazing how happy he is now, with kindness and home comforts. All that’s missing from his life now are one or two humans to call his own forever.
