Blake is such a handsome, blond Cocker Spaniel who is looking for a quieter, adult home though visiting children should be fine. He is currently being cared for by Heathlands Animal Sanctuary in Bedfordshire just waiting to go home.
Blake is neutered, 7 – 8 years old and he is blind. However, he is lively and affectionate and is playful with toys. He’s often bouncy, especially when it’s walkies time. Although Blake is blind, he seems to get around remarkably well, finding his toys, enjoying a paddle or swim in a local stream and, most importantly, is still able to find a ball in the paddling pool and get on the sofa for a cuddle.
Blake will need a home and garden with minimal steps and obstacles so he can learn the layout. He is crate trained for night time and is used to being left for a few hours. He has experience of regular short journeys in the car. Blake is still strong on lead but is better walking on a long line in open countryside anyway, given his disability.
Blake can be unsure about other dogs until he’s used to them but this is still improving further. He’s fine with other dogs in the foster home and multiple dogs he regularly walks with. He would probably prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can have all the cuddles and attention. A calm, confident dog, ideally a bitch, would be considered as he’s now very used to the German Shepherd in the foster home and absolutely fine with her. He is not used to living with cats, so no cats please.
