Bryan came into the care of Safe Rescue 4 years ago from a Romanian shelter. He had a white eartag which means that by their trip there in 2020 he’d already been in there for many years. In all honesty, he’s never really liked people, but maybe some kind person out there could change his mind.

After years of hardship at the hands of humans, no-one ever really blamed him, so he’s been ticking along for 4 years being fed and cared for, yet receiving nothing in gratitude but dirty looks. All that mattered was that he was out of the shelter and happy and safe in his foster home in Norwich, Norfolk.

Bryan is a small to medium size Crossbreed and is approximately 12 years old. For most of his time here, he been quite tricky to handle when he’s needed grooming, etc., but recently he’s mellowed out and accepted it. He almost forgot himself recently and enjoyed a groom and a fuss! When he rested his head on his carer’s knee and dozed off, it was suddenly realised that actually Bryan’s really an old man now and he deserves a quieter and more relaxed environment for the time he has left.

Obviously, Bryan needs a very special kind of person to offer him a home. It is still going to be a case of what you can do for him and not what love he’s going to give back to you ….. the gratitude is still not forthcoming and you’ll basically be his servant. The rewards will be from offering comfort and peace to a cantankerous old boy who just wants to use you for food.

Bryan needs another dog in residence and he has no issues with cats. He has been in a foster home with children of 8+; he ignores them and they ignore him and that situation works for all involved. He will go for walks and enjoys them initially but gets belligerent after about twenty minutes.

Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Bryan’s details on Safe Rescue’s Facebook.
