8/6/24 – Happy Buster has a lovely new home lined up!

Buster came to Chilterns Dog Rescue Society from a local pound. No-one else was in a position to help, but he is so pleased to have the opportunity of being given the chance of a happy future and is looking forward to finding a loving home to call his own.

Buster is a neutered, brindle Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is 8½ years of age (born 28.10.2015). He is proving to be a sweet, kind old boy who just loves to be around people and having belly rubs. Apart from that, he is happy to relax and enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by.

Although Buster is quite a large dog, he walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys his daily exercise in the woods and fields around the Rescue Centre. He is unreactive when walking with, or meeting, other dogs. He may be best as the only dog in his new home but options for him to live with a compatible bitch could also be explored. With no previous history available for Buster, CDRS are looking for a home without children where he can enjoy the company and care of someone who loves this breed and will work to restore him to full health.

It would appear that Buster has missed out on any medical attention until recently. He had a chronic skin condition with secondary infections which covered much of his body; possibly the reason he had been abandoned. With regular bathing, a course of antibiotics and a good quality diet, Buster is transforming. The sores are healing and his hair is growing back; he’s like a new dog, but this will need to continue for a while yet. He is even losing a bit of excess weight and, although he is still a hefty 31Kg, a more active lifestyle is slowly giving him a waistline again.
