01/10/2024: Dvorak has been adopted! Hooray!

Dapper boy Dvorak (pronounced “Duh-vor-jhack”, like the composer Antonín Dvorák) is a 14 year old, male, orange/roan Cocker Spaniel in a foster home through RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre in Tauton, Somerset.

Dvorak is a little sweetie who lives happily with the resident cat at his foster home and mixes well with other dogs out and about. It’s believed he could live with other friendly pets and children from age 12. He’s a playful boy and loves fuss!

He is very clean in the house and lets you know if he wants to go into the garden. He also travels well in the car and enjoys adventures. Dvorak loves to play with toys, and he especially loves ball games. Although he can be left for short periods, he would prefer to have the company of someone at home during the day.

RSPCA West Hatch say, “Dvorak has overcome some huge medical obstacles, and despite this he has remained a happy, joyful, loving boy throughout. He has been through 2 large operations to remove rotten teeth, have a large lump removed and to correct his entroption (turned in eyelids) but we are now really pleased that we can now find him a new and loving home.

“Being an older boy, Dvorak is pretty hard of hearing nowadays, so any off lead exercise can only be done in secure locations. Like a lot of older dogs, Dvorak often has quite a lot to say for himself and he will bark in an attempt to let you know what he wants! His new family will need to be prepared to embrace this!! We have all been bowled over by the resilience and gentleness of this fabulous boy. He really does deserve the chance to finally live his best life”
