13/5/24 – Gorgeous Errol has found a home!
————-
Brave boy Errol is a medium-sized Crossbreed of 9 years, currently in foster care in Manchester through Dogs 4 Rescue. He needs to be rehomed within the North West, preferably the Manchester/Wigan area so that the rescue can continue to fund his veterinary care while it’s needed.
Errol wants an adult-only home and to be an only pet. He does mix well with other dogs but he likes having his own space to relax in. He wants a home where his human can be with him most of the time.
Dogs 4 Rescue explain his recent medical treatment, “When he first arrived with us we were aware that he had one deformed leg that required attention. We booked him in for X-rays with our vet and were horrified to discover that Errol was suffering from fractures in all 4 of his legs!
“In December 2023 Errol underwent surgery to fix his most damaged leg but unfortunately this could not be saved and had to be amputated to alleviate his ongoing pain. He’s spent some time recovering in a foster home and has really wowed us with how well he has adapted to life on 3 legs. He never stops smiling and is such a happy little soul who bursts with happiness as the smallest things!”
Errol is a very sweet boy but he has some deep rooted trauma which causes him to react defensively, particularly towards visitors to the home who he doesn’t already know. It’s believed that, due to his past, he struggles to trust strangers and expects them to treat him unkindly. It’s felt that Errol needs one owner with whom he can form a close bond. He absolutely adores his foster carer and is the sweetest, most loving boy with her. He’s certainly relaxed in her company!
