18/11/2024 – Little Freddie has found a home!
Freddie is a friendly, smaller 8 yr old terrier cross, currently in kennels in West Yorkshire, where Good Life Dog Rescue are looking for his very special home. He can be rehomed further afield, but someone in the West Yorkshire area is preferred.
Happy Freddie hasn’t had things easy, so it’s really important that this time, the right people are found, to give him the best forever home. Since being picked up as a stray, he has been rehomed twice, but returned on both occasions for unacceptable behaviour. However, Good Life Dog Rescue are confident that the right home is out there for him. If you think this might be you, ideally if you have experience with dogs with a difficult background, and are prepared to take the time needed, please read on…………………………………
……….Freddie is still active, loves his walks, and is just waiting to go on an adventure with you. He can be a bit selective with other dogs, so is looking to be rehomed as an only dog, in a child free household. He loves his playtime, especially with his teddies, however, his humans must understand that he also needs time to settle, and his playtime must be limited. He should not be over stimulated.
Good amounts of exercise, where he can walk his little legs off, and get stimulation outside of the home, is a great start, together with understanding that Freddie needs clear boundaries. Freddie has had some resource guarding issues in he past, but with help from the rescue behaviourist, these can be worked upon.
He can sometimes be reactive with certain dogs that he meets outside, barking at some, and walking nicely with others, so perhaps his forever home may be somewhere in a less busy location, where Freddie can relax, without having to greet too many dogs on his daily walks. When you get home, he loves nothing more than to sit on your knee, and have a cuddle. Are you perhaps someone that walks regularly as a hobby, and would love a hiking buddy ? If so, Freddie would be perfect ! He so deserves to find a home where cuddles are plentiful, and he would receive all of the attention he’s been patiently waiting for.
As with many older smaller dogs, Freddie’s teeth will need some attention, but he is otherwise thought to be in good health.
Freddie’s new family clearly need to be special people, who understand that none of his behaviour is his fault. He is a loving boy, that just needs to be in the right home, where you are prepared to work with the rescue, and if necessary, their behaviourist, who will give you all of the support you need. They are confident you will be rewarded with the best boy, and that the right someone, and the right home are out there somewhere.
It’s suggested that regular visits to meet with Freddie, prior to adoption, would be fantastic, and so a Yorkshire based person or couple would be ideal.
