Magnus is a handsome 9-year-old Golden Retriever who is being privately rehomed after his owner sadly passed away. Magnus is in Dunsden, Oxfordshire (RG4).

Originally from Bosnia, Magnus has lived in the UK for 2 years. He hasn’t lived with other animals before, so is looking for a home as your only pet.

He isn’t used to living with children but loves people of all sizes and ages, so sensible older children might be a possibility for Magnus to live with. He loves a cuddle and to simply be near you.

Magnus is fine to be left alone for a few hours. He enjoys two or three short walks a day, plus garden access so that he can lie down in the sun – his favourite pastime! For this reason, Magnus needs a home with a pleasant, secure garden. Out on walks he doesn’t like reactive or aggressive dogs, and will bark back at them, so he stays on a lead in busy areas for this reason.

He is always calm and quiet in the car, and travels OK for short distances, but can be car sick on long journeys.

Magnus’s favourite pastimes include sunbathing, playing ball, walking in the countryside, and staring at rabbit holes in the garden!

Magnus is neutered. He has a heart condition for which he needs to take 3 tablets, twice a day, and this heart condition is likely to limit his lifespan. But, as you can see, Magnus is blissfully unaware and still very happy!

Magnus’s owner’s family are committed to finding this special boy a wonderful new home where he will be very happy and well cared for. They have confirmed that they will take Magnus back if his new home doesn’t work out for any reason. They will also be happy to discuss options for Magnus’s ongoing medical care with suitable enquirers. Prospective adopters will be carefully home-checked.
