Oscar is a 10yr old friendly and affectionate Border Terrier currently in foster in Northumberland where North East Terrier Rescue are looking for his perfect forever home.
He’s very active for his age and really enjoys his walks, getting so excited when he sees his harness being prepared for a trip out. He’s much more than a walk around the block kinda guy, and after a little bit of initial excitable pulling, he will settle into a nice walking pace. He will walk on a long line, has good recall and will check in regularly for a tasty treat.
He loves to play with his toys, tug or fetch and although he will get a little bouncy and vocal as he’s having so much fun, he is is generally really easy going and happy in his nature, responding well to praise and rewards. He’s absolutely fine seeing other dogs when out and about, so long as they are not in his personal space. This in mind, Oscar is looking to be the only dog in the home where he will not have to meet other dogs on a regular basis. He’s a good boy travelling in the car and would so love a little garden where he can potter and play too.
Oscar can be left for a reasonable period of time alone, but would like to have someone at home for much of the day. He really loves a cuddle and to be fussed and currently sleeps at the bottom of the bed, sleeping peacefully all night. Living in a multi dog household he can sometimes mark his territory, but it is felt that when in his forever home as the only dog, this will not be an issue.
Oscar could live with respectful quieter children over the age of 10yrs, but has not been used to younger children. He has a good appetite and is currently being fed a raw food diet. He loves his treats too !
If you think this fabulous little boy could come and join your family and you can offer him the happy forever home he deserves, please contact North East Terrier Rescue below.
