If you are thinking about adopting a pair of oldies, you may want to read our article Are Two Oldies better than One?
Doubly cute Princess, a Bichon Frise, and her bestie Noodles, a Poodle, are aged 8+ and looking for a home together after their owner become too unwell to care for them any longer. They are currently enjoying the comforts of a foster home provided by Dogs Trust Merseyside and hope to go to their forever home soon.
Princess is a quiet lady who settles well at home, possible because she’s hard of hearing so not much bothers her. She is a friendly girl with both people and other dogs and greets everyone politely. She is very tolerant of Noodles when he’s being a bit much. She’s very happy to oblige if people want to make a fuss of her and is an absolute sweetheart.
Princess has a lot of fatty lumps that don’t bother her, but also some skin issues that require medication. She may have an accident if she has just woken up so best to get her straight out to toilet, but recently has been doing well in her foster home.
Noodles is a very tactile boy who loves to be near you, being stroked and sitting close by. He sometimes objects if he sees Princess being fussed without him. He is good when meeting other dogs as long as they’re polite, and he’s great with people. Noodles also walks beautifully on his lead. He is house-trained but not used to being left. He has some age-related pain his in spine and legs that will require daily medication.
Princess and Noodles need to be rehomed together. Their owner was no longer able to care for them and they haven’t been getting out for walks recently. They will require regular coat care and trips to the groomers. They can live with other calm dogs and children over the age of eight.
